The school will be held in the Department of Physics and Astronomy " Ettore Majorana" of the University of Catania and in the Laboratori Nazionali del Sud of the Istituto Nazionale di Fisica Nucleare. Lectures and hands on exercises will be held in both Laboratori Nazionali del Sud (LNS) and Department of Physics. Coffee breaks and lunches will be served at the LNS Hostel.
The Department of Physics and Astronomy closely collaborates with numerous research institutions, including in particular the Sezione di Catania of the Istituto Nazionale di Fisica Nucleare, the Laboratori Nazionali del Sud of the Istituto Nazionale di Fisica Nucleare, the Osservatorio Astrofisico di Catania the Istituto Nazionale di Astrofisica, the Istituto per la Microelettronica ed i Microsistemi of the Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche, the Centro Siciliano di Struttura della Materia e Fisica Nucleare, the Consorzio Nazionale Interuniversitario per le Scienze Fisiche della Materia.
The Laboratori Nazionali del Sud (LNS) are one of the four national laboratories of Istituto Nazionale di Fisica Nucleare (INFN). Founded in 1976.
The Department is located within the Campus (University City) of Catania, which has three entrances:
