Hike in Col de la Faucille
On the Wednesday 24th August afternoon, we are planning an outing to La Faucille, in the French Jura.
This will be a 6km hike to the Grand Mont Rond up to an altitude of 300m.
Trainers (which have some grip) are advised, or walking boots/trail trainers. Please also foresee sunglasses and sun-cream in the event of sunny weather. It can still get a little chilly so also bring something to cover yourself.
The school will provide transportation by bus, with a limited number of places available on a first-come first-served basis.
Every participant should make sure they have insurance, and a Schengen visa for non-Europeans.
Participants will have time after the end of lectures and before meeting at the bus, to purchase their own lunch from the CERN restaurant and coffee/snack kiosk, which sells sandwiches, panini and fruit, to bring with them. Lunch will then be consumed during the hike.
Meeting Point:
11:00am (or shortly after) at the entrance to the Main building 500 located on the ground floor just under the Main Auditorium.
