Submitting an abstract

Submitting the abstract requires creating a lightweight Indico account. If you do not have one, please go to https://account.cern.ch/account/ and create one. Once you have a lightweight account, please sign in to the Indico system at https://indico.cern.ch/. Choose the "External email - Guest access" option. Access the event via https://indico.cern.ch/e/MPTL25or search for "MPTL 2022" in this system.


When submitting an abstract for MPTL 2022, you will be required to complete the proposal form outlining your contribution. The short abstract (up to 100 words) should be copied into the proposal form from the .docx and a .pdf file.

At the bottom of the front page of the MPTL 2022 conference, find the "Submit new abstract" button. If you are not logged in to Indico, the system should ask you to log in at this stage.

We invite you to submit an abstract for MPTL 2022 in Wrocław.
The submission system will be open on 4 April 2022. The deadline for submitting all proposals is 23 May 19 June 2022 at 23:59 CET.

The proposals will be reviewed based on the criteria published on the MPTL 2022 webpage and the results will be communicated by 15 June 8 July 2022.
 

The main topic of the workshop is Physics Teaching and Learning with Mobile Technologies. This highlights the possibilities of following subtopics:

  • A. Enhancing the use of multimedia and technology in Physics Teaching and Learning. From good practices to new possible approaches to specific physics content.

  • B. Modern equipment and technology to improve Physics Teaching and Learning. From productive use of modern equipment and technology to lessons strategies and curriculum modifications.

  • C. Challenges and opportunities of use of multimedia including distance learning.

From own experiences and reflection emerged during the time of the pandemic to new broader proposals.
 

We would like to encourage you to allocate your contribution to one of the three thematic fields if possible, but we also accept proposals that go beyond this.
Participants’ proposals can be presented in one of the following forms.

 

Workshop: Workshops provide the opportunity for sharing skills or practical approaches with active engagement in group of up to 16 participants. The abstract proposal is limited to 2 pages, including figures, tables (if applicable) and references. The template for workshops is available on the webpage. Parallel workshop sessions are expected. The author should propose the appropriate duration of the workshop either 60, 90 or 120 minutes.
 

Oral presentation: Oral presentations are of 15 minutes duration, plus 5 minutes discussion time. The template is the same as for workshops. Parallel oral presentation sessions are expected.
 

Poster presentation: The poster session involves a text and graphic display in traditional form (A0 portrait poster) and/or interactive multimedia presentation (movie, active presentation, etc.). The posters will be presented at the poster fair. The template for poster proposals is the same as for the workshop.
 

The abstract for MPTL 2022 should be submitted as both a .docx and a .pdf file each in two versions, with names and blinded for review, following the formatting in the respective template.
