Excursion to Palermo:
14.30 - Meeting at the Teatro Massimo
We stroll along via Maqueda, one of the two main streets of the city, until we reach the Quattro Canti, the heart of the historic center. This octogonal square results from the intersection with the Cassaro, the oldest street in Palermo. The adjacent Piazza Pretoria features the famous Fountain of Shame, and, next to it, you can see another square with two of the main monuments of the Arab-Norman site: the Church of the Martorana and the Church of San Cataldo.
From this square we enter the complex of Santa Caterina d'Alessandria, known for its rich Baroque marble inlays, where we taste the cannoli made with the ancient recipes of the convent's nuns.
Returning to the Quattro Canti, we walk the Cassaro (Corso Vittorio Emanuele) to reach the Cathedral and then return to the Teatro Massimo through the Capo Market.
Free time will be available for individual visits to other sites, shopping, or culinary tastings.
Departure from Palermo is scheduled at 20.30.
Arrival at the hotel at 21.30 ca.
