Visits to facilities
Thanks to some volunteer colleagues, we’ve arranged a few visits to CERN facilities on the Meyrin site. As space is limited, some visits are scheduled during lunch breaks to fit within the event program. The list is below:
XBOX facility adn LEIR Ion Ring:
- Tuesday 29/10 during the morning session coffee break.
- Take your coffee and walk few meters to see the XBOX facility and LEIR ring!
ATLAS Control Center and Expo Area:
- Sunday, 27/10 at 2:30 PM.
- Meeting point: CERN Science Gateway entrance, next to the tram station. Please consult the map here or Google!
Antiproton Decelerator (AD) Experimental Hall (building 193):
- Tuesday, 29/10, 1:00 - 2:00 PM (during lunch break).
- At the end of the morning session in Builidng 9, you can walk to Restaurant 2 for a quick lunch and then to AD hall (building 193) which is just few minitues away. See the map for the directions.
ISOLDE Experiment Hall (builidng 598):
- Tuesday, 29/10, with two possible times:
- 12:30 - 1:30 PM: At the end of the morning session in Building 9, walk directly to ISODLE (building 598) and then then return to Restaurant 2 for lunch.
- 4:00 - 5:30 PM (tbc): For those not attending the GB meeting.

- Tuesday, 29/10, 4:00 - 5:30 PM, for those not attending the GB meeting.
