Chilika Lake

Chilika lake is the largest salt water lagoon in Asia and the largest salt water lake in India. More information is available on Wikipedia. Barkul is around 70 km from the conference venue. From there, one can take a boat to explore the lake. 1.5 hr one way journey time.

Mangaljodi

Mangalajodi is a special attraction for bird watchers at the Chilika lake that harbour thousands of water birds, both migratory and resident. Mangalajodi is about 110 kms from the conference venue. 2.2 hr one way journey time. More details may be found here.

Konark Sun temple, Konark
