Dr. Rita Pinho, CERN
Rita is a biomedical engineer with a passion for innovation, public policy, and science outreach. After completing her master's at the University of Porto, she pursued a PhD at UCL and worked with the European Commission on science-policy interactions. Rita focuses on applying CERN's expertise to healthcare, microelectronics, and digital sciences, aiming to maximize its societal impact.
Dr. Alessandro Raimondo, CERN
Alessandro is a Knowledge Transfer Officer for Medical Applications at CERN, where he has been since 1995. He has extensive experience in both technology and administration at CERN, having worked in data acquisition, control systems, and held leadership roles in the CERN Pension Fund. Alessandro holds a PhD in Physics and an MBA.
Ms. Joy Baraza, STFC
Joy is a Business Engagement Coordinator at the Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC) in the UK. With a background in biotechnology and enterprise, she supports start-ups and SMEs in STEM, particularly in biology, chemicals/materials, and Industry 4.0 technologies. Joy played a key role in organizing the CERN/GHF global health workshop.
Dr. Benjamin Frisch, CERN
Benjamin is a member of CERN’s Knowledge Transfer Group, specializing in transferring CERN technologies to medicine and quantum technologies. With a PhD from the Technical University of Vienna, he has over fifteen years of experience in medical robotics, imaging, and regulatory consultancy for medical devices.
Ms. Marzena Lapka, CERN
Marzena is a communications and marketing professional with an MBA from the University of Geneva. She has extensive experience in a scientific environment, working at the intersection of science, technology, and innovation. She currently leads strategies to promote CERN’s technologies and know-how, driving positive societal impact.
Dr. Claire Grosu, GHF
Claire is currently a scientific assistant at the Geneva Health Forum. Claire recently completed her PhD in Neurosciences at the CHUV (Centre Hospitalier Universitaire Vaudois) in Lausanne. Her doctoral research focused on the metabolic side effects of psychotropic drugs and the genetic polymorphisms associated with behaviors and related brain regions.
Mr. Amedeo Habsburg, CERN
Amedeo works as a fellow in CERN's ATS sector, to administratively support medical application projects. He supports the incredible projects through fundraising, communications, outreach, webinars and more.
