"Data Science Applications in Physics" Winter School in Tirana 2025

The latest edition of the "Data Science Applications in Physics" School aims to bring together researchers from Albania and abroad who are currently working in various disciplines of Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, and related fields, focusing on Big Data challenges and employing Machine Learning methods. This year, the school will cover a broader range of topics, including the latest results from the CMS collaboration, computer vision applications, pattern recognition, and numerical modeling of real-life phenomena. Students from Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, and related disciplines are strongly encouraged to apply.

The school features lectures and hands-on tutorials tailored to a broader audience, with a central focus on Data Science and Data Analysis. It is supported by the Albanian-American Development Foundation , through The Research Expertise from the Academic Diaspora (READ) Fellowship Program. 

It will take place from January 27-30, 2025, at the Faculty of Natural Sciences in Tirana.

Requirements for the hands-on sessions:

1. Students must have a Gmail account

2. Students must have a Kaffel account

If they don't have it, they need to:

a. go to the Kaggle website: https://www.kaggle.com/
b. click on Register, at the top right
c. register with an email (e.g., Google)
d. enter the email and password, then log in
