A collaboration between KEK: High Energy Accelerator Research Organization; TPU: Tomsk Polytechnic University; and JAI@RHUL: John Adams Institute at Royal Holloway, University of London was established to investigate a possibility to generate intense electromagnetic beams in THz and soft X-ray spectral ranges. One experimental setup was created and installed at the LUCX facility at KEK to investigate stimulated coherent diffraction radiation. The second setup is being designed and will be devoted to investigation of Smith-Purcell radiation generated from gratings of various profiles.
