The international conference The Modern Physics of Neutron Stars and Relativistic Gravity will take place 
in Yerevan, Armenia, September 18-21, 2013, at the Department of Physics of Yerevan State UniversityAmong the cultural events a session will be organized to commemorate the 100 birthday of prominent Armenian physicist, academician Gurgen S. Sahakyan.
 

We plan to discuss the following topics: 

* Current topics in gravitation and cosmology 
* Phenomenology of compact stars (cooling, magnetic evolution, etc)  
* Gravitational collapse and supernovae  
* Equation of state of dense matter and QCD 
* Physics of neutron star crusts 

Yerevan can be reached from all the major European cities within 3 to 4 hours flight time. The following airlines serve the Yerevan International Airport ``Zvartnots" (city code EVN): Air France, Austrian Airlines, Czech Airlines, British Airways, Polish LOT, and Aeroflot. 

Rooms at hotels of various categories located in the downtown Yerevan and within walking distance from the University will be reserved for the participants. More information on accommodation will follow. 

The organizers did applied for a substantial support for the conference; the decision on funding is still pending. At this time we are asking the participants to pay a modest conference fee of 100 Euro, which will cover the coffee breaks and the conference dinner. We will waive the fee and will provide a substantial support for the local expenses (and travel depending on your needs) once the funds are available to us. 

September is one of the best seasons in Armenia with temperatures around 20-24 C. The participants will
be offered tour(s) of historical sites in Armenia and a cultural program.
