Description
Double hard scattering in proton-proton collisions is described in terms of double parton distributions. We derive bounds on these distributions from their interpretation as probability densities, taking all possible spin correlations between two partons in an unpolarized proton into account. These bounds can be used to set limits on the effects of spin correlations in double hard scattering. We show that the bounds are stable under leading-order DGLAP evolution and investigate the effects of DGLAP evolution on polarized as well as unpolarized double parton distributions.
