Description

The bootstrap program in conformal field theory aims at understanding higher-dimensional CFTs by imposing consistency conditions. These constraints rely on the knowledge of conformal blocks, which are special functions that sum up to conformal four point functions. Although they are notoriously difficult to compute, recent work has lead to a better understanding of these conformal blocks. In this talk, I will explain how these insights lead to a more rigorous understanding of the bootstrap and simplify calculations. Special attention will be paid to the 3D Ising model.
