Description
This contribution will review on-going ASIC developments taking place within the context of the Medipix3 Collaboration and also discuss a development aimed at a future CLIC vertex detector.
We will begin with a description of the Medipix3RX ASIC and its innovative architecture. The measurement results and the lessons learned in the project will be covered in detail. We will discuss the novel aspects of the on-going and future developments (the Dosepix, Timepix3, Smallpix, and CLICpix prototype ASIC). This will also include discussion on hybrid pixel detector readout chip compatibility with Through Silicon Via technology (TSVs) and the exploration of more downscaled technologies.
