Description
Several projects planned or proposed can significantly expand our knowledge of the high-energy Universe. Construction of the Cherenkov telescope array CTA is going to start in October, and other detectors are planned which will use the reconstruction of extensive air showers. This talk describes the physics potential of this exploration, with particular attention to possible discoveries on fundamental physics and to multimessenger astrophysics.
