Scientific Programme

The workshop will focus on progress of neutrino astronomy, in particular the physics, technological and instrumental aspects of large-scale detectors in water or ice.

The workshop will be organized in plenary and parallel sessions.

The status and the results of the several experiments already active, or planned, in the field of High Energy astrophysical neutrino detection will be described.

Results from observatories and experiments active in the fields of gamma-ray and multimessenger astronomy will be presented and discussed.

VLVnT-2015 will welcome scientists, engineers and students from numerous universities and institutes.

The Workshop will also represent a forum for exhibitions and presentations by industry, notably manufacturers of underwater sensors and infrastructures, and providers of related underwater services.

Parallel sessions will be dedicated to:

  • detection techniques (also for Ultra High Energy Cosmic Rays: acoustic and radio detection)
  • photon detectors - readout/DAQ
  • data transmission
  • calibration
  • software developments for events simulation and reconstruction.
