Abstract Instructions

Important: Please note that the submission of an abstract alone is not enough: authors must also fill the registration form.

OBTAINING A CERN ACCOUNT

To be recognized by the Indico portal, you must have a valid CERN account. If you don’t have any, please visit the CERN Account Management website to create a lightweight account. Once you received confirmation via email that your CERN account has been created, you may submit an abstract.

SUBMITTING AN ABSTRACT

Abstract must be submitted in electronic format through the Abstracts submission portal. No other form of submission will be accepted.

Submitted abstracts should not exceed 500 words, should not include figures/tables and should have a maximum of 3 references.

Upon submission please indicate to which track (= topic) it relates. Please choose among:

  • Novel scintillators
  • Scintillator characterization
  • Scintillation mechanisms
  • Defect and radiation damage
  • Scintillator growth and production
  • Applications of scintillators
  • Scintillation detectors and read out systems

Also please indicate your preference for the type of submission (Oral/Poster). Note that a preference for oral presentation may not guarantee you are assigned an oral presentation.

Finally indicate the primary author and co-authors. If the primary author and co-authors all have a CERN light-weight account, their names will be searchable. Otherwise, use the ‘Define New’ option to include non-registered individuals.

By default, all added authors appear as Primary Author and Speaker. Check it carefully and make sure to unmark their Speaker tag.

This can be done using the edit button in the author form. Using the same button, you can also move them to co-authors.

(This bug will be fixed in a future release of indico)

MODIFYING A SUBMITTED ABSTRACT

When logged in, your submitted abstracts are visible in the Abstracts submission portal. You can then edit or withdraw an abstract by clicking on them.

NOTIFICATION OF ACCEPTANCE

The SCINT2107 Committee reserves the right to exclude papers that do not comply with its quality standards and do not apply to one of the defined topics. Authors will be informed by June 1st as to whether their abstracts have been accepted for an oral or a poster presentation.
