How to reach us

The ESRF can be reached by taking the tram line B, direction 'Grenoble Presqu'île' from the town center.

Trams run every few minutes or so; a single ticket costs 1.50 Euros and can be purchased from the ticket machine at the stop. Tickets should be validated before getting on the tram.  Participants should leave the tram at the last stop 'Grenoble Presqu'île'. The ESRF site entrance is 350 m further up the road on the left.

Access to the EPN Campus

On arrival, please tell the site entrance staff that you are participating in the Low Emittance Rings 2015 Workshop.

The EPN Campus is a restricted area and you will be asked to produce proof of identification (e.g. passport, ID card) on arrival.

You will be given a workshop badge at the site entrance, please wear this badge on site over the whole period of the event. This badge is also your site access badge, you will be asked to present it each time you wish to enter the site during the period of the Workshop.

Workshop dinner

The dinner will take place at "La Corne d'Or" restaurant. A shuttle service will be organised from the ESRF to the restaurant and back with drop off points in Grenoble town center.

Cinema - Timetables can be found at www.cinema-grenoble.com or in Le Petit Bulletin, a copy of which is usually found at the entrance to the canteen. 'La Nef" and 'Le Club' usually show films in native languages with subtitles.

Bike hire - Bikes can be hired from Metro Vélo at Grenoble rail station.

  • Shops and services

Shops, banks and postal services can be found in central Grenoble.  Please note that banks are closed on Saturdays afternoon, Sundays and Mondays.  You will find a list of boutiques and shops at your service in and around Grenoble on the Tourist Office website (in 'Practical Info').
