Travel information

The best way to reach Sofia is by plane. The city is well connected with all major European and world cities.

Then, from the airport to the hotel:

by taxiWe recommend that you take a taxi at the designated taxi stands in front of the western exit (on your right) from Arrivals at Terminal 2.  Make sure that you are catching  "O'Key Supertrans Taxi" authorized by the Sofia Airport, see for car logo here.

The usual price per km is around 1 BGN, the same or less for 1 min stay. The prices must be visible on a sticker attached to one of the passenger side windows and inside the car. There must be a taximeter in the car, too. Thus, from the airport to the city centre it should cost ~10 BGN, depending on the traffic.

Please, avoid catching a taxi that has no price sticker on a visible place! Read the sticker carefully before you embark!

by public transport - For information see www.sofia-airport.bg.

If you stay in the Crystal Palace Hotel, you can reach the hotel from the airport by metro (metro station St. Kliment Ohridski University) for about 35 min., including 3 min. walk from the station to the hotel. You can buy ticket for the metro in the stations. It costs 1.60 BGN and is valid for one ride. Bus, trolleybus and tram tickets have to be bought before you embark and then validated in the vehicle. Many specialized kiosks and newspaper kiosks sell them. They cost also 1.60 BGN and are valid for one ride.
