Transport and CERN access

Registered participants arriving at CERN :

  • before 6pm - should present themselves to CERN's main reception with a valid ID and make reference to the conference

OR

  • after 6pm - should present themselves to gate B (open 24h) with a valid ID and make reference to the conference.
     


How to get to CERN

From Geneva's Airport 

Regular CERN shuttle service MEYRIN - AIRPORT (except Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays)

For Public Transport take a free ticket from the machine in the baggage collection hall, on the right side just before customs control.

OR

Bus No. 57 until Blandonnet Tram No. 18 → CERN
Bus No. 28 until Blandonnet - at Blandonnet take Tram No. 18 → CERN
Bus No. 23 until Blandonnet - at Blandonnet take Tram No. 18→ CERN
Bus Y until CERN (direct but less frequent)

From Cornavin's station

take Tram No. 18 → CERN
Taxis are available at approximately 48.00 CHF

By car

Cern main entrance address : 385 route de Meyrin, Geneva, Switzerland
GPS location Reception: Lat: 46.233058, Long: 6.055692

Take the Geneva motorway bypass (motorway sticker, available at all customs points at a cost of 40 CHFand valid for a full calendar year on Swiss motorways is required), drive as far as the Meyrin exit and then follow signs for Saint-Genis-Pouilly (France), via Meyrin. CERN is on the left just before the Swiss-French border.
