Transportation & Parking

Flights:
You can either fly directly to College Station, the airport code is CLL. It can be a convenient option as you will not need a rental car. However, in the last few years, the number of flights by United Express from Houston has dropped from 6-7 a day to 2-3 flights a day, which decreased the ease of travel to CLL on United. American Airlines still maintains a fair number of daily flights with connections through Dallas (DTF).

Your second option is to fly to Houston Intercontinental airport (IAH) and rent a car. It takes about 90 minutes to get to College Station.

If you are flying from Geneva, a typical United itinerary will take you from Geneva to Newark or Washington, then to Houston (and then, optionally, to College Station). You may find it more convenient to take a less beaten up path by taking a short flight to Frankfurt or London followed by a direct flight from FRA or LHR to Houston. In this case you are less likely to get stranded somewhere if one of your fights is late. This is also a much safer option if the weather in the US is not cooperating. Houston airport weather related closures are almost unheard of while chances of you spending a night or two in a hotel in Newark or Washington this time of year are not negligible. It may also save you some travel time, especially on your outbound flight.

Airports:
Easterwood Airport (CLL) is located only 2 miles from campus and offers 5 daily flights from/to Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) on American Airlines and 2-3 daily flights to/from George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) on United Airlines. All flights use regional jets.

If you can't find a convenient connection that will bring you directly to College Station, you should consider flying into the Houston-area airports, George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) or William P. Hobby Airport (HOU), and complete the rest of the journey (100 miles) by rental car or airport shuttle. You can arrange shuttle service to & from Houston airports with GroundShuttle. Note that HOU airport is farther away from College Station and you may hit traffic as you drive through Houston. If none of these options are working too well for you, let us know and we will come up with a solution.

Parking

The closest visitor parking is provided by the Northside Parking Garage (see the map below), which is just across the street from the Mitchell Institute (denoted as MIST in the map), at the intersection of Ireland Street and University Drive: http://aggiemap.tamu.edu/?Bldg=0388.

Parking should not be too bad as the dates of the workshop fall on the very end of the semester when many classes are already over and the final exams have not started yet.
