Description
The focus of this workshop will be on reviewing and refining the overall plan and schedule of the US contributions to the CMS forward muon upgrades scheduled for LS-2 and LS-3 shutdowns. In addition to technical aspects, the workshop goals include review and refinement of the current project schedule, distribution of responsibilities among participating institution, project milestones, cost estimates and other project management topics. The results of the workshop will form the basis for preparations for the upcoming NSF Preliminary Design Review and DOE project reviews.

ME0 Detector Requirements: Simulation Studies and Considerations

Key consideration is the granularity and expected rates. The working assumption is that ME0 will be making stubs (stub-building can happen in the XTCA backend or on-chamber, which will require OHs to talk to each other)

      M102

Mitchell Institute for Fundamental Physics, Texas A&M University

University Ave & Ireland Street College Station, TX 77845

This session is reserved for "free discussions" of topics relevant to the scope of LS-3 upgrades. The list of topics is by design evolving and will be defined during discussions in the preceding days and even during this very session. Key topic discussions are expected to be documented with a few slides, which can be prepared before this session, during or even after the corresponding discussion takes place.

The only "fixed" talk is the UCDavis Radiation Hardness Facilities Overview by Mani.
      The evolving list of topics:
      - Features driven by physics considerations that may become part of the requirements
      - Interfaces between components of the system and external interfaces (CMS DAQ, Trigger etc.)
      - Common Backend for CSCs and GEMs
      - Radiation hardness considerations and impact on the designs
      - GEM-CSC Interface for GE2/1 and ME0
      - TBD
