International transport
Leuven is readily accessible by air and by train.
By air
- The nearest airport is Brussels International Airport in Zaventem with 2 direct trains (13 minutes ride) to Leuven per hour.
- The nearby low-cost airports are Brussels South in Charleroi and Eindhoven in The Netherlands. Neither are well connected to Leuven and will require more than 1 hour commute to Leuven.
By train
- Leuven is located on the Brussels - Liège train line. International trains can then be taken to either station (Bruxelles Midi or Liège Guillemin), where a connecting train to Leuven can be taken.
- In Belgium, make sure you take the train to Leuven, and not to Louvain-La-Neuve (located 30km further south)!

Local transport
By bus
La Foresta can be accessed from the Leuven train station by bus, using either De Lijn bus 5 to Vaalbeek or TEC bus 18 to Jodoigne / Geldenaken. For more information on the stops and routes to follow, visit the website from La Foresta.

By bike
A series of bikes have been rented for the duration of the event and will be provided to the participants at La Foresta. These will allow the participants to commute to and from town if they desire during the free periods. Biking is an essential part of the Leuven experience!
To SCK•CEN
A bus is foreseen to travel to Mol for the excursion to SCK•CEN on Wednesday. Please make sure to be on time to allow for a prompt departure. Departure from La Foresta at 07h30 and from IKS at 08h00. The bus will stop at both places upon return.
Please note that for security reasons, you will have to show your ID Card (Belgium) or your passport at the entrance of the SCK•CEN site, and to proceed through a metal detector frame. Bags will be searched as well. Please make sure that you provide accurate information in the registration page for the registration to the SCK•CEN part of the event.
The registration deadline for SCK•CEN is 25 August.
To IKS
A shuttle service will be provided to commute between La Foresta and IKS on Friday morning. From IKS, several buses are available to go to the train station.
