Venue

The city

The city of Regensburg is a marvelous city with a charming historic city center. In fact, the city center and its surroundings have been declared a UNESCO world heritage site. Wikipedia holds a lot of information about the city's history.

Conference venue

The conference will take place in lecture hall PHY 9.2.01 in the department of physics at the University of Regensburg. Additional, smaller seminar rooms will be made available if necessary. If you stay at hotel „Apollo“, it is a 10 minute walk. Otherwise, take the bus stop „Universität“. (See the campus map or OpenStreetMap or Google Maps.)

We will also provide lunch vouchers for the University's dining service („Mensa“).

Wifi

The University provides free Wifi, either via the encrypted access through eduroam, via a special conference Wifi (details upon registration) or via an public open (unencrypted) network @BayernWLAN

Reception

There will be a reception on Sunday, March 18 at 6 p.m. in the location „Altes Finanzamt“ (Address is „Landshuter Straße 4“).  It is located close to the historic city center downtown. It is a 3  minute walk from the central bus station „Albertstraße“. (See this map or a more detailed one, or use OpenStreetMap or Google Maps.)

Dinner

The conference dinner will take place on Wednesday at 19:30 in the restaurant „Leerer Beutel“ (Picture)  located in the historical granary of Regensburg dating from the 16th/17th century. (Address is „Bertoldstraße  9“. She the detailed map, or use OpenStreetMap or Google Maps.) It's a three minute walk from the bus stop „Dachauplatz“.

Public Transport

Public transport in Regensburg is well developed and a bus ticket for the duration of the workshop will be provided for all participants.

Bus lines 6 and 11 run between the University and the central Bus station „Albertstraße“ every 20 minutes (every half hour at night). 

The bus stop „Neuprüll“ (Line 6) is closes to hotel Apollo.
