One of the hot topics in the program of EW precision studies at LHC is the W boson mass measurement from the study of charged current Drell-Yan observables.
This measurement strongly relies on a very precise knowledge of the gauge boson transverse momentum spectrum and, since ptW is quite poorly measured, an important source of information is offered by the ptZ distribution in neutral current Drell-Yan.
The transfer of information from neutral- to charged-current Drell-Yan is currently one of the bottlenecks in the MW determination.
In the meeting we will start to address some of the questions which naturally emerge:
-what is the most precise analytical prediction for ptZ ?
-how do Shower Monte Carlo codes predict ptZ ?
-which are the best analytical and Monte Carlo predictions for the ratio ptW/ptZ ?
-how do we assess the theoretical uncertainty on the ratio ptW/ptZ ?
