Travel information

By plane: The main airport to reach Lyon is the Lyon Saint Exupery international airport, located at 25 km East of Lyon and with regular direct flights to more than 40 countries.

From Lyon Saint Exupery airport: you can easily reach Lyon by taking the express train Rhonexpress to the central Lyon Part-Dieu train station. You should follow the signs "Lyon Express" at the airport. There are trains every 15 minutes and the journey takes 30 minutes. You can find more information about the timetable and prices at the Rhonexpress website.

By train: Lyon can be reached by normal trains (TER) or by TGV (high speed trains). In particular, there are regular trains (about 30 per day) from Paris city center and Paris Charles de Gaulle airport, and the trip takes about 2 hours. The main train station in Lyon city center is Part-Dieu.

How to reach the IP2I (workshop venue): from Part-Dieu, take the tram T1 direction IUT Feyssine or T4 direction La Doua Gaston Berger and get off at the stop Universite Lyon 1.

You should buy tickets before boarding, from the automatic TCL machines (on or before the platforms).

If you are coming directly to the conference from the airport, the T4 stop is just next to the Rhonexpress stop at Part-Dieu. To get T1, you have to enter the train station, cross it  and go to the other side.

For more information, maps and timetables on public transportation in Lyon, you can check the TCL webpage.

From the tram stop Universite Lyon 1, you can walk to the IP2I: follow the tram track in the same direction that the tram goes and turn on the first road on the left. The IP2I (Paul Dirac Building) is down the road (click on the link below to see a map). It is the last building on the left, just after "Maison d'Hôtes".
