Visa
EU Nationals do not need a visa to enter Greece, but a valid ID card or passport is required. Non-EU nationals in general require a visa for stays in Greece. A visa is not required for semi-annual visits of up to three months for nationals of those countries for which the European Community has abolished the visa requirement. Nationals of countries which do not have a visa-waiver agreement with the European Community must obtain a visa. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs provides detailed visa information. A list of countries together with visa requirements can be found here. Those who need a visa should fill in the information requested in this form. By Air
During the summer period, there are many direct flights to Heraklion and Chania from various European cities.
The recommended airport, closest to the conference site is Chania International Airport (CHQ). The OAC is located 39 km west of CHQ airport.
OAC can be reached from the Chania Airport by taxi, public bus, or rental car. By bus is cheaper (line Chania - Castelli), however, the bus stop is located at a distance of about 1 km from the OAC. If you arrive by bus do not expect to find a taxi in Kolymbari. Taxi needs to be ordered in advance and it might come from far away. The recommended way is a car rental.
If you decide to fly to Heraklion, which is located 165 km from Kolymbari, you can reach the conference site by taxi or by bus from Heraklion to Chania (one bus per hour, line Heraklion-Rethymnon-Chania, duration of about three hours) and then to the OAC as explained above.
Please note that the conference period is high season. We strongly advise you to book your flights as soon as possible.
By Boat
Chania can be reached from Athens (Piraeus) daily by boat. The company operating the route is ANEK Lines. Boats dock at Chania's port Souda bay, which is located about 7 km east of the city of Chania. From there you can reach Chania and Kolymbari by bus or taxi.

Taxi
Kiwitaxi.com is recommended especially for Heraklion-Kolymbari transportation.
The approximate prices are 60 EUR for the trip from Chania airport to OAC Kolymbari and 200 EUR from Heraklion airport to OAC Kolymbari.
Bus
Public bus lines are operated by the KTEL company. You can consult the KTEL website for the actual bus schedule. We will also provide actual schedules on this webpage before the conference.
