Sunday 8 September - Self presentations
After dinner in the DESY Canteen, we invite all participants to the "Self presentation" session which will take place in the "Brasserie" part of the DESY canteen. Some drinks and snacks will be available.
Monday 9 September - Welcome Dinner
The Welcome dinner will be held at the Cap Polonio restaurant with both CERN and DESY VIPs present.
Buses will leave at 18.45 from the street outside the main entrance, close to the DESY hostel. The buses will bring us back after the dinner.
Tuesday 10 September - Pub Quizz
You are all welcome to take part in the CSC pub quizz in the Brasserie at DESY, starting at 20.30.
Some drinks and snacks will be available.
Thursday 12 September - Hafenrundfart in Hamburg and pizza dinner
We will be taking a guided tour through the harbour of hamburg, by boat, of course! Please make sure you bring suitable clothes, it might be windy! After the boat trip, we will all go for a pizza.

Leave train station into direction Mercado shopping mall, turn right to Hahnenkamp, follow the street, later called Hohenensch, the streets leads directly to the restaurant.

Public transport, e.g. bus number 2 to Bahrenfeld Trabrennbahn
Bus stop: opposite side of the street Bahrenfelder Str., you see it from the Pizzeria, take bus number 2, go out at station “Bahrenfelder Trabrennbahn” and follow Notkestraße to DESY main gate.
Saturday 14 September - Airbus visit
Departure from DESY by organised bus at 8:15. Make sure you bring a valid passport!
After the Airbus visit, we will make a picknick lunch close by Airbus. The bus will return to DESY. The afternoon is free, so those who wish to go into Hamburg can leave already after lunch.
Please let us know if you will attend dinner at DESY in the evening, or if you plan to go out in Hamburg (at your own expense) by filling in the provided registration for the dinner.

Walk from Kanu station to Sierichs Biergarten Hamburg: Südring 5b, appr. 20 min.
Walk back to station Saarlandstraße, then: follow Saarlandstraße, turn left over bridge (Stadthallenbrücke), turn left again and you almost can see Sierichs Biergarten Hamburg.
Burger buffet starts at 6.30 pm
Return to DESY
Walk from Sierichs to station Saarlandstraße, take train to Station bis Othmarschen.
Closing dinner, Friday 20 September
Walk from DESY to train station S-Bahnhof Othmarschen: appr. 30 min
Line: “S 1”, direction: Hauptbahnhof/main station to S-Bahnhof Landungbrucken.

Blockbräu restaurant: directly at „Brücke 3“ diagonally across the station (cross the pedestrian bridge).
Return trip: Landungsbrücken (S1 direction Wedel) à exit Othmarschen station à walk back to DESY.

Craft Beer
Beyond Beer - Hamburg's best beer store, Sternschanze/Eimsbüttel, with up to six beers on tap. Friendly and with a wide selection of styles. Your first port of call, closes atft Beer 8pm (Fridays at 10pm)
Braustättchen am Fischmarkt - Small beer store on the Fischmarkt with a couple of taps, is a bit out of the way, but if you're down by the river exploring. Also near the excellent Eier Carl bar, which serves a limited menu of delicious german food and incredible homemade eggnog
Brewdog - At the city end of the Reeperbahn, you know what to expect
Craft Beer Bar - Does exactly what it says on the tin, around 30 craft beers on tap. They also do average Pizza, but you're in Sternschanze, plenty of options available. And they have a shuffleboard
Galopper des Jahres - On Schulterblatt in Sternschanze, they could have some good beers on, they might not. But you're in Sternschanze, plenty of options available
Gloria - In Eimsbüttel, not far from Beyond Beer. There's one beer to go here for, delicious Pilsner Urquell Tankbeer, a pilsner delivered no more than 24 hours old, direct from Czechia. The chalkboard outside tells you how many days ago it was delivered, between 0 and 3. They also have pretty good food and great cakes
Irish Pub in the Fleetenkieker - Near the Rathaus (Town Hall) in the city centre. More like an Irish Pub that also sells some craft beers, but the food, live sport and Guinness are all great
Kyti Voo - Bar near the Alster / Hauptbahnhof with a selection of mainly german craft beers
Langang - Hamburg brewery in Altona-Nord, with a tap room open Wednesday-Saturday, also offers brewery tours. A bit hidden, follow your nose
