Description
In this work, we describe enhancements to the hadronic de-excitation models implemented in the Geant4 toolkit. We extend the comprehensive and independent validation system for these models, covering a wide range of tests in the moderate energy region, from the reaction threshold to 3 GeV. The underlying processes have a defining impact on the formation of hadronic showers and the resulting neutron, proton, and ion spectra, which are essential for predicting calorimeter response. Processes in this energy range are important for simulations in HEP and are particularly critical for medical and space applications of Geant4.
