Poster Presentation Track 5 - Event generation and simulation Poster

Speaker

Wojciech Krupa (CERN)

Description

The Gauss software is the main simulation framework in LHCb and handles both the event generation step and the tracking of particles through the detector material. Gauss has recently been restructured as a thin LHCb-specific software layer above an experiment-independent HEP simulation framework (Gaussino). In this talk we report on the steps that were taken toward the deployement and commissioning of the new Gauss-on-Gaussino in the LHCb distributed production system. We also give an overview of the challenges encountered to validate the physics reliability of the samples produced with the future Sim11 production campaign based on the software and steps ahead to provide the full functionality of the current Sim10 productions.
