Description
We present a new method for generating neutron cross-section (XS) data sets from evaluated nuclear data (HP) that improves the accuracy of XS approximation in resonance regions while maintaining computational efficiency for HEP applications in Geant4. Our approach supplements the standard XS datasets with additional dedicated resonance (R) files for the low-energy region, which is defined individually for each target nuclide. To validate the performance of the proposed method, we compared CMS simulations with and without the new R files. We also conducted a neutron transmission test and compared the results with experimental data.
