Description
Using 772 million B meson pair decays recorded by the Belle detector at the KEKB collider, we study the time-dependent CP violation in the penguin transitions $b \to s q \bar{q}$, specifically in $B^0 \to \eta' K^0$. The $K^0$ mesons are reconstructed by either $K^0_S$ and $K^0_L$ and the possible deviation of the CP-violating parameter $\sin2\phi_1^{\rm eff}$ from the value found in the tree-dominated decay modes $b \to c \bar{c} s$ is discussed.
