The conference will be held at the Tuschinski Theatre, an extraordinary landmark in the heart of Amsterdam, which was built in 1921 in a spectacular mix of Amsterdam School, Jugendstil, Art Nouveau and Art Deco. The main auditorium, which hosts many Dutch film premieres, is considered one of the most beautiful cinemas in the world.

From Schipol:
From Schipol Airport, take the train to Amsterdam Centraal Station. There is a station in the airport, near arrivals, and trains from Schipol to Amsterdam Centraal Station leave approx. every 15 mins.
From Amsterdam Centraal Station, the quickest way to get to the Tuschinski Theatre is to take tram 4 or 9 to Rembrandtplein. The cinema is a 1 minute walk away from this stop. It is also possible to take tram 16 or 24 to Muntplein and walk the remaining 5 minutes to the Tuschinski Theatre. All four trams leave from just outside Amsterdam Centraal Station - look for stand A.
The total length of the journey from Schipol Airport to the Tuschinski Theatre is approx. 40 minutes.
From Amsterdam Central Station:

TRAVEL AROUND AMSTERDAM
Public Transport
The public transport in Amsterdam is extensive and well-organised. Travel round the city is possible by tram, metro and bus and the GVB offer various tariffs depending on the length of your stay. Bike Rental:
The most convenient and economical way of getting around in Amsterdam is by bike. The bike paths are extremely well kept and in Amsterdam, the cyclist is King!
The nearest bike rental stop to Amsterdam Central Station is Mac Bikes. On exiting the station, simply turn left and follow the building along until you arrive at the shop. For more information, please visit the website.

There are various taxi ranks dotted around Amsterdam and the closest one to the Tuschinski Theatre is located outside the Ice Bar, Amstel 196.

If you are already aware that you need to be at the airport at a certain time and plan on travelling by taxi, we recommend you book this in advance.

CONFERENCE DINNER – HET SCHEEPVAART MUSEUM
The conference dinner will take place at Het Scheepvaart Museum, Amsterdam. This newly renovated nautical museum is located within 10 minutes walking distance from Amsterdam Central Station and within 30 minutes walking distance from the Tuschinski Theatre.
From the Tuschinski Theatre by Tram:
Option 1: If you don’t mind walking part of the way, the quickest route is to take tram 9 or 14 from Rembrandtplein to Mr. Visserplein, then walk north along Nieuwe Herengracht until you reach the main road. At this point, you will immediately see Het Scheepvaart Museum on the other side of the road, facing out onto the harbour. It is a large white building with a replica ship docked outside it.
Option 2: The other route is to take tram, 4, 16, 24 from Muntplein back to Amsterdam Central Station, then walk east towards Het Scheepvaartmuseum along the harbour.
