Description
The purpose of this meeting is to allow all NA4 participants in EGEE-III to meet other members of their workgroups, to contribute to the workplan definition, and to understand their roles in the activity. This is a working meeting and conference attendees are expected to stay for and to participate in the full program. Please register (on the left) as soon as possible to help the local organizers. There is no registration fee for this event and meals are at the participants' expense. The coffee breaks and cocktail are free for participants. Recommended Accomodations list contains hotels in Orsay and in Paris near the RER B train line. It takes around 35 minutes to reach the center of Paris from the University. The nearest airports are CDG (Charles de Gaulle/Roissy) and ORY (Orly). CDG is approximately 1.5 hours from the conference location by train (RER); Orly is approximately 30 minutes by train (OrlyVal/RER). Please plan your trip to be sure to attend the full meeting. The venue for the event will be the Bâtiment des Colloques (338) near (but not at) the Laboratoire de l'Accélérateur Linéaire (LAL). A map to LAL is available; a better map will be provided well in advance of the conference.

    • Application Porting Support

The session is primary for those people who are involved in application porting activities and/or wish to port applications to EGEE. At least one representative from each NA4 Application Porting Support centre is expected. The session provides a good opportunity for NA4 application clusters to see the workplans of the application porting group and to learn about their expertise so porting efforts can be harmonized.

      Topics to be discussed:

      • Workplan of the NA4 Application porting support group in EGEE-III
      • Linking generic Application porting support to collaborating projects, and other EGEE groups and activities
      • Status reports on applications from porting centers: Isabel Campos, Giuseppe La Rocca, Eduardo Huedo Cuesta, Gergely Sipos

If any other partner wish to give a status presentation please email the chair of the session: Gergely Sipos (sipos at sztaki dot hu).

    • Regional Support

Regional support teams have played an important role in the past concerning the smooth operation of NA activities in participating regions. The overall purpose of these teams is to act as liaisons between EGEE and regional Grid activities. In EGEE-III this effort should be intensified with an additional goal to prepare for the transition to the NGI model. This upgraded role of the regional application support teams will be visible also in the EGEE-III workplan.

This session will provide the opportunity for the Regional Support teams of NA4 to get together introduce themselves and discuss about the NA4 workplan for this task. The outcome of the meeting should be an overall agreement of the workplan including:

    • Subtasks and Timeschedule
    • Milestones
    • Metrics to monitor the progress of the task
    • Tools to facilitate the regional teams work
