Arrival Information

On arrival at Stavanger airport Sola, proceed through customs and into the arrivals hall (~20 mins). Immediately outside the arrivals hall, find the airport shuttle "Flybussen". It leaves approximately every 20-30 minutes (website). It is the most convenient and cost-effective way to get to town. During the summer, all buses take a route through Madla to the city centre.

Tickets may be bought from the driver, using card or cash. A return ticket is the best option. The driver will speak English and will be able to inform you of when to get off for your hotel.

The trip takes about half an hour.

Heading directly to the university campus

Unfortunately Flybussen does not go to the University campus. If you are in a hurry to go to campus, taxi is the best option. Ask the driver to take you to "University of Stavanger, Main Building", and they will drop you off outside the conference venue, Arne Rettedals hus. Journey time is about 15 minutes and the cost very approximately 300-350 NOK.

Otherwise, go to town, get off at the main bus station and then get a local bus from there (buses 6, 7 or X60). Please see our local transport page for more information. Your Flybussen ticket entitles you to one change onto the local buses. There will be a weekly pass for the public transport in your conference pack. Allow at least an hour for going from the airport to the university via the town centre.

It is also possible to take local buses from the airport to the centre of town, but the route is circuitous and slow, a change is required, and so we do not recommend it.

A dedicated phone number has been created in case of emergency: +47 98307834. A member of the organising committee will be on call.
