ISAPP 2017 Texel: The Dark and the Visible Side of the Universe

Texel, Netherlands

Description

The ISAPP European network organises every year schools in astroparticle physics, targeted at experimentalists, observers and theorists (see e.g. previous schools in Paris, Gran Sasso, Belgirate, Stockholm and Canfranc).

The present school will take place on the Dutch island Texel, 26 June - 5 July 2017, and is dedicated to a range of topics that are focused on indirect searches for signals from particle dark matter in astronomical observations. The topics include sources, acceleration, propagation and detection of cosmic rays, gamma-ray astrophysics, astroparticle statistics, the production and distribution of dark matter in the Universe, and the current status of indirect dark matter searches. It will finish with a look to future prospects and opportunities of the field.

The school is open to PhD students and young post-docs working in high energy astrophysics, cosmology and particle physics. No prior knowledge on dark matter research is required.
