Directions to the airport
To get to the airport, you can use the CERN Shuttle Service (circuit 4), which leaves from in front of the hostel.
Public Transport
Transports Publics Genevois (TPG) provide good coverage of the area. If you are staying in a Hotel (not the CERN Hostel) you will be given a complementary travel card. Tram 18 takes you between CERN and the City Centre for 3.00chf for a 'Billet Tout Genève validité 60''. Tickets can be purchased from machines at each stop.
Access cards and conference badges
To enter CERN you will require a valid CERN Access Card. These will be printed in advance based on meeting registration. A photo ID is required to collect your CERN Access Card.
- From Monday to Friday 8:00 - 17:45 go to the CERN reception (building 33), just in front of the Globe.
- Outside working hours (for example if you are arriving at the CERN hostel on Sunday), go to Entrance B (building 533) and ask the security guard on duty.
Conference badges will be distributed on the first day.
Wi-fi access
If you do not have eduroam, please fill the visitor computer registration form before arrival. When filling the "Visit Details", please indicate Hannah Short as contact person.
Meeting locations
- The tour will meet at 09:45 on the 29th of November at CERN reception (building 33). Registration mandatory.
- The main meeting will take place in the IT Amphitheatre.
- Any side meetings will be located near to the IT Amphitheatre and directions will be given on site.
Lunch
CERN’s Restaurant 2 is a 2-minute walk from the meeting venue. Lunch vouchers will be provided.
