ABOUT LISHEP
LISHEP was created in 1993 and is organized in four different sessions:
SESSION A – Science on Secondary School This Session in 2018 will be chaired by Luciano Abreu and A.Santoro -PRÓXIMAS DESCOBERTAS NA FÍSICA DE ALTAS
SESSION B – Advanced School in HEP
SESSION C – Workshop in HEP
SESSION D – HEP Associated Technologies
This year we will have LISHEP session A and session C:
LISHEP 2018 Session C is chaired by Harvey Newman, Luciano Abreu and Alberto Santoro.
SCIENTIFIC PROGRAM (see please the web page to have an updated program)
The main purpose to realize LISHEP2018 in Salvador is to bring to this region the High Energy Physics to expand the number of people doing experimental physics and Institucional participation in Brasil.
REGISTRATION
All participants must fill the registration form available in https://indico.cern.ch/event/675301/ The options are USD350,00 or BRL1.100,00 or CHF350,00 or EUR300,00 for registration fee.
This covers attendance to the workshop, related material, coffee breaks, welcome cocktail, City Tour and the conference dinner,
We intend to request financial support from the main development agencies: CAPES, CNPq and FAPERJ. The payment of the fees will be done on the desktop of the workshop on the first day on arrival (preferable in cash). We thank you for your collaboration since we have many difficulties of financial support for science in the present in Brazil. Those having difficulties to pay the fees, please write to us - lishep2018@gmail.com - stating the reasons.
DATES AND VENUE
The deadline for registration for session C is August 1st of 2018.
LISHEP will be held from September 10 to 14 at UFBA in Salvador city, Brazil. Salvador receive many International, National and Regional meetings and welcomes thousands of visitors every year.
About the weather during the workshop, is recommended to see the sites announced the annual temperatures like in this link.

MEALS
For the lunch time we will organize inside of the University one of the restaurant available.

WORKSHOP DINNER
There will be a dinner starting 19:30 PM Thursday 13 September. All participants that paid in arrival the registration fees is invited to come to the conference dinner. The participants that was granted by the Workshop organization are welcome to the conference dinner paying the correspondent value to be announced during the workshop. Same procedure will be applied for the accompanying persons.
The menu offered will be based in regional food but we will announce later.
FINANCIAL SUPPORT
This year we are still undergoing a economical and political crisis and consequently a low financial support for science and education. But we will submit a proposal for the financial support agencies as CAPES, CNPq and FAPERJ.
VISA
Check with the closest Brazilian embassy or consulate about entry requirements. Depending on the country of origin, your passport may require a valid visa. We can provide an invitation letter in case you need one.
REACHING SALVADOR
Salvador international airport connects Salvador to several domestic, regional and international cities. There are taxis serving the airport. Look for the selling booths just after the customs area.
TRANSPORTATION IN SALVADOR
We strongly advise the participants take taxis in the door of the Hotel to go to any place in the city of Salvador.
All payment must be done only in the desktop of the organization in your arrival. Local: in the entrance of the workshop. Even the Workshop Dinner it is necessay to express your interest to go.

ELECTRIC POWER
Electric power in Salvador is mostly 110 Volts/ 60 Hz A.C. but hotels may provide 220 Volts outlets. You may need an adaptor since hotels use the international standard outlet. Check this with your hotel prior to arrival.

PROCEEDINGS
We would like to communicate that we will publish a Proceedings for historical reasons. We will send message later about this. In 1995 we published the Proceedings of Heavy Flavor Physics "CBT workshop". If you look for this book in google it appears some booksellers that still have copies of this proceedings. As the number of heavy particles and flavors increased we intend to do the new version after 23 years.
