Description

The Institute of Nuclear and Particle Physics of the NCSR "Demokritos" in Athens is hosting the Conference and Cum Workshop of the MIXMAX Consortium, a collaboration between seven institutions (EU project MIXMAX-H2020-MSCA-RISE-2014) to develop and implement a new class of pseudo-random number generators based on Anosov-Kolmogorov C-K systems. These new 64-bit generators demonstrate excellent statistical properties, become an indispensable tool for the Monte Carlo simulations and have been integrated into the CERN software applications which are used by the LHC and other HEP experiments.

The aim of the Conference and Workshop is to summarise the overall progress and the results which have been obtained by the Consortium during the four  years of the MIXMAX project, 2015 - 2018. The use of resources, the project management, the dissemination/outreach activities, the scientific, technical, social, commercial and environmental impact will be discussed and summarised.
