Description
In the LHCb Upgrade there will be four layers of tracking provided using silicon strips located after the Vertex Locator and in the fringe field in front of the analysis magnet, allowing for a fast determination of track momentum, essential for the software only trigger. We will discuss the design, including novel features such as embedded pitch adaptors and top-side HV bias, as well as construction progress, and the increase of the physics potential provided by this detector.
