Exhibition: Enrico Fermi's graduation in Pisa - 100 years anniversary

This year, 2022, we will celebrate the 100th anniversary of the degree  in physics at the University of Pisa and of the diploma at the "Scuola Normale Superiore" of Enrico Fermi, one of the greatest physicists of the last century.

The celebration (https://agenda.infn.it/event/28645/ ), organized by the University of Pisa, the Scuola Normale  Superiore and the National Institute of Nuclear Physics, will mainly focus on Fermi's scientific activities as a student and of his first physics works immediately afterwards graduation.

Despite his young age, some of those early articles can be considered seminal for subsequent fundamental advances in several domains of physics.

The celebration will be organized as a two-day conference, from 13 to 14 October, in which some of Fermi's most important articles in his early years will be discussed (scientific programme) and an exhibition that will show scientific documents and tools related to Fermi's scientific activity: Fermi100

During the conference, Fermi as a student, including his thesis and diploma, will be remembered together with some of his first scientific works on: Mass and Energy, The Ergodic Problem, Quantum Mechanics,  Statistics and Probability, Photons associated with rapidly moving charged particles.
The relevance of these works for physics today will also be emphasized.

A special talk at the Higgs Conference "Higgs2022", Pisa 7-11 November, will be dedicated to summarize the most important results discussed at the Fermi’s October conference.
The visit of the Fermi100 exhibition will be possible also for the participants in Higgs2022 conference.

Tickets are available here.
