ABOUT LISHEP
LISHEP was created in 1993 and is organized in four different sessions:
SESSION A – Science on Secondary School
SESSION B – Advanced School in HEP -not in this time
SESSION C – Workshop in HEP
SESSION D – HEP Associated Technologies -not in thisme
This year we will have LISHEP session A chaired by A. Santoro and L. Mundim and session C: Cosmology and Particle.
LISHEP 2023 Session C is chaired by Harvey Newman and Alberto Santoro.

REGISTRATION
All participants must fill in the registration form available in our Web page. The options for cash payment are: USD500,00 or BRL2.700,00 or CHF500,00 or EUR500,00 for registration fee (Other payment options, please see the webpage). This covers attendance to the workshop, related material, support services, conference dinner and city tour (Lunch not included). We did not receive yet the amount approved by the financial support agency FAPERJ. Therefore, the payment of fees is almost the only resource that we have until now.
DATES AND VENUE
The deadline for registration for session C is February 12 of 2023.
LISHEP session C will be held from 6 to 10 of March. 11th of March (Saturday) is the day of City Tour in Rio de Janeiro.
From February 17 through February 25, Rio de Janeiro will host Carnaval, and during these days the city will receive many national and international visitors. If you are interested in coming to participate in the Carnival, please go to the following page for more information: http://riotur.rio/carnaval-rio/
During the day the minimum temperature will be about 23 degrees Celsius while the maximum temperature will be around 35 degrees Celsius, sometimes even more. Temperature may drop during the night so a light jacket may be necessary.
Rio de Janeiro is a tourist destination with many natural attractions and several options for ecological tourism.
UERJ- Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro is one of the major Universities of Rio Janeiro. UERJ is hosting our LISHEP2023. We warmly thank the support received from the University administration.

ACCOMODATIONS
Rio de Janeiro has a large and diversified offer of hotels. We recommend two Hotels from the same brand-name WINDSOR. They are Windsor Leme Hotel and Windsor Florida Hotel. The organization got a discount code to do the reservation for registered participants. The code is LISHEP2023. You make your own reservation on the Hotel’s website:

The organization will provide a bus to take the participants from Windsor Leme to UERJ because there is no subway station nearby. At the end of each day of the event there will also be a bus to take the participants back to the Windsor Leme hotel.
In case you choose the Windsor Florida Hotel, please read the document How to get to UERJ (available also at LISHEP page) for instructions on how to take the subway.
MEALS
With the pandemic period, many restaurants around UERJ closed. Inside the UERJ we had also restaurants but they close also due to pandemic period. Then, we suggest two possibilities:
1. For the lunch time we will walk about 100 m from the room of the workshop to a Restaurant. Members of the local organization will guide all participants to go together.
2. We will announce by the opening talk of LISHEP2023, the March 1st, or even before, other

CONFERENCE DINNER
There will be a dinner starting at 19:30 Friday 10th March. We will leave the Hotel Windsor Leme in a bus that go to Restaurant and return to the Hotel Windsor Leme at 22:40. All participants that paid in arrival the registration fees are invited to come to the conference dinner.

VISA
Check with the closest Brazilian embassy or consulate about entry requirements. Depending on the country issuing your passport you may be required to carry a valid visa. We can provide an invitation letter in case you need one.
REACHING RIO DE JANEIRO
Rio de Janeiro has an international airport with connections from/to several domestic, regional, and international cities. For taking a taxi, look for the selling booths just after the customs area

ELECTRIC POWER
Electric power in Rio de Janeiro is mostly 110 Volts/ 60 Hz A.C. but hotels may provide 220 Volts outlets. You may need an adaptor since hotels use the international standard outlet. Check this with your hotel prior to arrival.
