Description

In the Standard Model the mass of the Higgs boson (m(H)) is a fundamental constant that is not predicted by any theory. Therefore, it must be measured experimentally. Many properties of the Higgs boson depend on m(H), such as its production cross sections, the branching ratios, and more generally its couplings. We present the latest measurement of the Higgs boson mass using H->ZZ decays in the four-lepton decay channel with the CMS experiment at the LHC in proton-proton collisions at sqrt{s} = 13 TeV using the full Run 2 data. The four-lepton final state benefits from a final state fully reconstructed and a clean experimental signature providing so far the mos precise measurement of m(H), together with the two-photon final stae. In addition to the increased luminosity with respect to the last CMS published result, this analysis benefits from major upgrades of the CMS Inner Tracker detector as well as from enhanced analysis strategies.
