How to get to the University campus?

From down town Wuppertal you can either walk (approx. 20min), or take the the Bus 615 or 645 to the stop "Universität".  At the main station these buses leave from platform 3. The bus stops directly in front of the main entrance.

The address of the campus is: Gaussstrasse 20, 42119 Wuppertal.

Finding your ways in the University

You enter the building G already on level 8, because this is a very hilly area.

On your first arrival please go to room G.11.01 in order to register:
Just pass through the entrance area into a big hallway, which connects buildings G, D and F. Use either the stairs or the elevator to level 11. Walk into building G (same direction you came in on level 8) and continue along the right hand side corridor until you reach room G.11.01 on the right.

The lecture hall is located on level 10 in building F, which is directly accessible from the same hallway. The room has the number F.10.04 and is called "Hörsaal 4".

Most of the hand-on sessions take place on level 11 in the buildings G and D. More details will be available on the agenda.

The overview of the campus with school-specific details is available as a PDF.

The App "Universität Wuppertal" provides an easy way to find and navigate to a room. Please note that the room name has to be entered with a dot between the letter of the building and the level number. Example: G.11.01

Coffee and Lunch

Coffee breaks take place in G.11.01 as well.  In the morning the breaks are listed on the agenda of the lectures. In the afternoon you can get a coffee and cake between 14:45 and 16:00.

Lunch is available in the "Mensa" ME 02. From the entrance at ME.03.80, you need to take the stairs down to level 2. For a free lunch, bring your name tag!

Public transportation in North-Rhine Westphalia

You can obtain a ticket either from a ticket machine, or in a bus from the driver. Multi journey tickets (4 and 10) are available at a reduced price per journey. For multiple people it can be beneficial to buy a group ticket (max. 5 people).

A good option to get around in North-Rhine Westphalia (NRW) is the Eezy.NRW system. This allows to check in with an App, when entering a bus or local train and check out again when the destination is reached. The price is 1,50€ + 0,27€/km (as the crow flies). The total amount per month is limited to 49€. This is only valid in local public transport systems and NOT on long distance trains, like the IC or ICE.

Multiple Apps support Eezy.NRW: mobil.nrw and VRR. These apps allow to search for a connection and directly check in. The apps require mobile data access and GPS. In addition you need to register with the system and deposit a means of payment (e.g. credit card).
