Social program

  • A wide range of associated (social) events and activities have been foreseen to take place during LHCP 2024 in Boston. Your registration fee includes the following social events:
  • Welcome Reception on the evening of Monday June 3 at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, from 6:30PM till 8:30PM. We will walk over after the plenary session, please wear your badges for admission to the museum at 6:30PM. There will be a bag and coat check. The event features appetizers and drinks. Suggestions for after-reception dinner restaurants in walking distance from the museum can be found below [*]
  • Poster Session during lunch on Tuesday June 4 at the Interdisciplinary Science Center (ISEC) of Northeastern University, from 12:30PM till 2PM. Please wear your badge during the event. The poster session will have lunch buffet options available.
  • Conference Banquet on the evening of Wednesday June 5 at the Museum of Fine Arts from 6:30PM till 9:30PM. We will walk over aftern the plenary session, please wear your badges for admission to the museum at 6:30PM. There will be a bag and coat check, and parking registration available. The event features appetizers, drinks, and dinner buffet in the Shapiro courtyard. Guests will have access to the Art of the Americas galleries and the Gund gallery.

 

In addition, there will be following optional social events, for an additional fee:

  • Red Sox baseball game at Fenway Park in the evening of Tuesday June 4.

 

We have arranged the purchase of 120 tickets to the Red Sox vs. Braves baseball game the evening of June 4th at Fenway Park. Folks that submitted their request through the previously circulated form by the April 2nd priority deadline have a reserved ticket. If you are still interested, but do not have a reserved ticket we encourage you to purchase a ticket through the MLB website (link). We will be in the Right Field Grandstand Section 2 (G2 on the online seating chart) Rows 3-13.

The reserved tickets will be disbursed electronically on Monday and Tuesday; to confirm the ticket transfer, please find Prof. Johan Sebastian Bonilla Castro at the standing registration desk in the ISEC atrium during Monday’s lunch break or any of the coffee breaks on Mon/Tue.

The game starts at 7:10PM. Fenway Park is about a 20min walk from campus and from the dorm. If you would like to walk together as a group, there will be one group departing from the dorms at 6:30PM (led by Dave Morse & Jack Li) and another group departing from the front of Dana Research Center (led by Toyoko Orimoto) at 6:30PM. You are also welcome to head to Fenway Park on your own.

Participants are welcome to purchase dinner from the concession stands during the game. If you would like to drink alcohol, you must bring a government-issued ID.

Please note the bag policy for Fenway Stadium. You will not be allowed to bring your backpacks to the Stadium, so we advise you leave your backpacks in your dorm or hotel room. https://www.mlb.com/redsox/ballpark/information/guide#b-content

 

  • Topical Excursions (half-day) on the morning of Saturday June 8. Those who have signed up for these, will receive tickets at registration time. Find details about these excursions from the separate menu tab. The longest of these excursions is the Whale Watching, which will take place 10AM-2PM.

 

There will also be a set of associated outreach events taking place during the LHCP 2024 conference in Boston. 

  • Public lecture in the evening of Thursday June 6 (Boston Public Library), from 6:30 to 7:30PM. Find details of this event from the separate menu tab.
