The resort is Hotel Iberostart Tucan/Quetzal located 60 km (40 miles) from Cancun International Airport. It is in Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo, an area known as the "rivera Maya". Cancun has direct flights to many international airports. It is also possible to arrive at Cozumel airport and then take a ferry to the peninsula.
While there are no direct flights from Asia, there are many one-stop flights to Cancun via major airports in the US, Europe and Mexico City. There are also several low-cost airlines within Mexico. For example, Volaris and Viva Aerobus.
There is a four ways highway from Cancun airport to Playa del Carmen. Participants are advised to check the time of their flight departure and arrival because heavy traffic is possible. Nearer to the start of the event, the organizers will organize a spreadsheet for participants that would like to share a taxi to reduce costs.
