Description

diphoton, dijet and dilepton searches

Summary

The search for high-mass resonances decaying to a pair of photons, jets and leptons are motivated by several beyond the SM and extradimensional theories. The searches have been performed by CMS using the Run2 pp collision data collected at $\sqrt{s}= 13$ TeV, corresponding to integrated luminosity of 3.3, 2.4 and 2.6 $fb^{-1}$ respectively. An excess observed in the mass region of 750-760 GeV in the diphoton search is a new exciting possibility for CMS to investigate further. The exclusion limits on the production cross-section have been derived for considered theory models, which predict the dijet and dilepton resonances.
