  1. Thursday 17 August 2017, 19:00-20:30  Blessing in the OAC ChapelIntroduction to the History of OAC Chapel  and Meaning of Blessing by Katerina Karkala (OAC) given inside the OAC Chapel (old building), followed by a ceremony of Blessing in the OAC Chapel for interested people.

  2. Thursday 17 August 2017, 21:00-21:45  After dinner talk in the open veranda of OAC on "History of Crete" by Emanuela Larentzakis with a particular focus on the History of Chania. This talk is preparation for the excursion to Chania the 25 August.

  3. Friday 18 August 2017, 20h00-20h30 Concert by Svetlana Nor (Violin) and Vladimir Nor (Cello) (Formal dressing is suggested).

  4. Friday 18 August 2017, 20h30, Welcome Drink and dinner.

  5. Saturday 19 August 19:00-20:30 Guided tour by Katerina Karkala (OAC) to the nearby Gonia Monastery. The tour will include visit to the Museum of the Monastery with very old paintings and objects and a talk given in the veranda of the Museum.

  6. Sunday 20 August 2017 Conference Excursions:  One excursion will visit the  Palace of Knossos, center of the Minoan civilization (3650-1450 BCE), considered Europe's oldest city, where the legendary King Minos has reigned, with the Labyrinth of Minotaurus in which human sacrifices were made. His mother Europi (Ευρωπη) broad to Crete by Zeus, gave her name to the continent of Europe. The excursion will visit also the Museum of Herakleion, one of the richest Musea in Greece.  Other excursions will visit famous historical Monasteries in the mountains of Crete, including the celebrated Holy Monastery of Chrysopigi (16th century) with its rare Exhibition of old paintings, or the Fallassarna beach, one of the most famous and purest beaches of Crete.

  7. Monday 21 August 2017, 19:30-20:30 Poster session and Best Poster Award ceremony in the lower veranda of OAC, with wine testing and dinner at 20:30-21:30. 

  8. Monday 21 August 2017, Concert of Classical Music in OAC at 21:30-22:30, by Ruben Muradyan (piano), Svetlana Nor (violin), Vladimir Nor (cello), Mikhail Nor (Tenor)) (Formal dressing is suggested). The program can be found here.

  9. Tuesday 22 August 2017  19:00-19:30, OAC amphitheater, concert.

  10. Tuesday 22 August 2017 19:30-20:30, OAC amphitheater, Public Talk by John Ellis, in english.

  11. Wednesday 23 August 2017, 20:30-23:30  Conference Dinner with life Cretan Music and Dance.

  13. Friday 25 August 2017, 16:00-23:30 Excursion to Chania, old Venetian Harbor. Starting from the Old Agora, one can visit the magnificent Cathedral of Chania (a three aisle basilica from 1860), the archeological Museum of Chania, the old Venetian Port with its old turkish Mosque Yali Tzami (17th century), the Castle of Chania, the Egyptian-Venitian Lighthouse (from 16th century) and more.

  14. Friday 25 August 2017,   Concert of classical music by Mikhail Nor (Tenor), Svetlana Nor (violin), Vladimir Nor (cello) 20:30-21:00, and Public Talk by Jean Iliopoulos, (in greek) at 21:00-21:45 in the Great Arsenali (KAM) in Chania, old harbor.

  15. Friday 25 August 2017,  For interested people Historical Talk on the History of jews in Greece at 19h00 by Mr Christophe Steinberger (in english) in the restored Etz Hayyim Synagogue of Chania (15th century) and visit of the Synagogue and its Exhibition.

  16. Saturday 26 August 2017, 18:00-20:30  Cultural event in OAC with talks and classical music.

  17. Saturday 26 August 2017, (21:30 - 22:30) Concert, "Sacred Music". Artists: Kalliopi Petrou, Soprano, Stefano Menegus, piano. The program can be found here.
