Description
The evaluation of the hadronic vacuum polarisation contribution to the muon magnetic anomaly is reappraised using the latest e+e- → hadrons cross-section data. A fit incorporating constraints from analyticity and unitarity of the dominant two-pion form factor allows to significantly reduce the uncertainty in the evaluation at low energy where the measurements are scarce and less precise. The talk discusses the new data and methodical improvements, and presents a new Standard Model prediction of the muon g-2.
