Description

The skipper-CCDs used in the COherent Neutrino–Nucleus Interaction Experiment (CONNIE), operating at the Angra 2 nuclear power plant in Brazil, provide an interesting setup for the study of energy deposition by cosmogenic muons in silicon. These particles can be used to cross check the energy response of the sensors by comparing the measured and simulated shapes of the expected muon spectra in the silicon of the detector. Muon tracks can also be used to extract the depth-size relation of energy depositions in the silicon bulk that allows for 3-dimensional reconstruction of events due to the effect of charge diffusion. In this poster we show progress in the use of the CONNIE skipper-CCDs to perform these types of studies.
