Description
Welcome to NPKI (New Physics @ Korea Institute), which is an e-Institute just launched. As an opening event, we are organizing the workshop, "Top physics and electroweak symmetry breaking in the LHC era." Topics related to the top physics and EWSB are expected to be discussed (model-building, EWPT, collider physics, QCD, flavor physics- broad range of topics related to top physics & EWSB are to be covered). The workshop aims to bring together experimentalists and theorists to discuss recent developments and future research directions. The workshop registration fees for participants are 200 Euros ($263 USD). To send us comments/suggestions about the talks use the Support link on left.

The origin of mass & the
      Large Hadron Collider (LHC)

One of the biggest mysteries that physicists are facing is what is the source of mass for all the point-like fundamental particle that we are all made (such as the electrons) of as, well as the nature of the so called dark matter which makes 80% of the mass of our universe. We shall discuss briefly how and why do we hope that the Large Hadron Collider at CERN may shed light about these basic questions.
